Garden Spells - Make My Monday Challenge

I was really pleased when this theme was chosen at Make My Monday Challenge this week.  After looking at the book cover I knew my project would feature Faux Cloisonné,

The stamps were from Fancy Pants, I used Versamark and Cosmic Shimmer Bright Gold Embossing Powder.

The stamped image was then coloured with Cosmic Shimmer and Twinkling H20 paints.
The greeting was stamped with Delicata - I find this a brilliant ink pad - really juicy and a great colour.
The coloured areas were coated with Glossy Accents.

Easter Tag and back from the NEC

This is my Easter Tag which I took half completed to the NEC with me and completed it in between meeting and chatting with some lovely folks and doing a bit of demo ing.
The image is from a Tim Holtz paper pad, I thought it had a lovely vintage feel to it.

I covered a tag and die cut shape with distress paints, smooshing it about on a craft sheet.

Then I inked through some hessian mesh to give a little more interest to the background.
The seam binding was coloured with distress stains.

I die cut flowers from my own home made metal card, embossed them in a folder and painted them with distress paint.
To finish, I made a parchment panel and added a greeting.

This will be entered into the following challenges:-
Tim Holtz - 12 Tags of 2013
Sugar Creek Hollow - Vintage Easter
Simon Says Stamp - Easter / Spring

Well I'm off skiing now, thank you so much for your kind messages, I will visit your lovely blogs when I get back.

I thought you might like to see my table of goodies at the NEC earlier today and this is me playing.

Dancer Tag

For this tag I have used some beautiful stamps from the Artistic stamper.
I love these stamps particularly  because Number One Daughter is a dancer and made me very proud at her Dance Show last Friday so this one is for you, darling.

I began by making a background page with the dance dictionary stamp and then stamped the dancer and cut her out.
I made a parchment skirt for her in gold parchment using a regular grid.

I used a tatted ring that I have recently made and stamped a button with Stazon.

The papers are graphic 45.

WOYWW 198

Well it's that time of the week again, it does come around quickly doesn't it?
This is what's on my work desk today, untidy as usual, however, the shed has had a massive tidy - I can't find a thing now!
The oddity today is my skiing trousers which I had to shorten, as always!  Off skiing next week, hope we all come back in one piece!
The bits in the background are demo pieces for the NEC on Thursday, if you happen to be there, please come and say hello.  I will be on the Pergamano Stand.
If you have no idea what I am rambling on about do visit Julia at the Stamping Ground and join in the fun.

Love heart

For this project I have used a lovely new Indigo blu stamp.  i thought this would make a pretty wedding keepsake, an alternative to a horseshoe.

I began by painting a heart blank with Gesso and then Distress Paint in Bundled Sage.  The image was stamped with Archival.

I made some flowers from gold parchment paper and spritzed them and some cream ribbon with Perfect Pearls, Heirloom Gold.

I coloured the image with Derwent Inktense Water Colour pencils and a water brush, I was feeling a bit lazy and didn't want to fill a water pot and get a brush out!

The heart was distressed with brushed corduroy and some wax was added to that and the flourish.

Monochrome at Make My Monday

This week at Make My Monday the theme is Monochrome and here is my submission.
Some of the photos are in pink because I couldn't decide which colour I wanted to do, so I did both.  Please let me know which one you like best.

I used the lovely new Darkroom Door stamps alongside an older background stamp, again Darkroom Door and the phrase is Stampers Anonymous, I think the words are just lovely.

The top text is stamped first, then masked to allow for the large rose which is then masked for the background.

Finally I stamped the phrase and drew freehand lines around the text.

And here it is in Pink!

Notebook with parchment and fabric

You know when you have had an idea in your head for ages and you can't seem to get around to it, well, this project was one of those.

I love mixing fabrics and papers and had a lovely time creating this.

The stamp is from Crafty Individuals and is stamped onto linen and coloured with my lovely Derwent Inktense pencils.

The flowers were made with the Sizzix Tattered Florals Die and layers of organza, and parchment, both of which I heated over a tea light.  This made the fabric shrivel and the parchment sort of buckle - really nice effect.

I made a parchment border for the image with a grid.

Some of the layers were coloured with distress inks before all being sewn on my beautiful old singer machine.

And of course a parchment butterfly.

A Blue One with lots of Facial Hair!

For this card I have used one of the great Indigo Blu stamp sets.

This will be the second blue project this morning, the first one a new blue cushion cover to replace Bowser That Naughty Schnauzer's after he decided to eat his bed.

The background was created by heat embossing one of the moustache stamps with clear embossing powder and then colouring with distress inks and Dylusions mist.  I thought it made it look a bit stubbly.

The three moustaches were made in different materials. one was stamped and embossed with UTEE.  The next was flocked - this did make it quite furry.

The third moustache was made from Fimo - as you can see I'm no expert with this and yes, I only had red clay.
After baking I coloured it with pro markers, it still looks red in the photos but looks better IRL.

I love these elements of the stamp set.

Some stamped sentiments and a UTEE bow tie.

Whats on Your Workdesk Wednesday - WOYWW

This week I am slovenly again.  I actually took the photo Tuesday PM and knew it would still be ok this morning because I haven't tidied up and the tidy fairies don't seem to get as far as my shed!

I have had my grandma's lovely Singer out again and some lovely bits of fabric and lace.

Meanwhile outside, Bowser is still enjoying his gardening, I caught him trying to bury a tennis ball - I will soon have a sunken garden!

Why not pop over to Julia's blog - the Stamping Ground and join in the fun - it's great to look at what my online friends have on their desks.

William Morris Inspired Card

This card was inspired by a set of postcards I was given some time ago of various art work in National Trust Properties, some of them being William Morris.

The background is a Darkroom Door stamp coloured with Distress Inks.  This was then masked off and the edge was stamped with this medalion stamp.

The main image stamp is one of the first stamps I ever bought which I haven't really ever used but I thought it was perfect for this card.

The background was further coloured with distress markers.
A wooden button, stamped with Stazon using an Inchie stamp - these little images are perfect for this.

Seam binding dyed with distress stains.

Finally the button and the red flowers were given the Glossy Accent Treatment.

Make my Monday First DT Make

Yippee! I am so thrilled to have been asked to join the Make My Monday Challenge Blog Design Team.

This is my first creation for this week's challenge, the theme of which is Heat Embossing.

I hope you like this card, which uses two different methods to produce a similar overall result, and will come over and join in the fun with me at Make My Monday.

I began by making a background using Dylusions Inks and a Mask.

I then embossed the image with White Embossing Powder.

The tag was stamped and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder and coloured afterwards with Distress Inks and spritzed with water.
It was then overstamped with a script stamp.

The seam binding was dyed with distress stains and the text stamped onto small squares.

Just the addition of another parchment butterfly - these critters get everywhere - and a bit of distress around the edges,
