WOYWW 212

Happy Wednesday everyone.  What a lovely mess I have today.  Lovely because I have just spent the morning with my dear friend, Nita, making samples for my upcoming Create and Craft show.
I know I say it so much but I LOVE crafting with my friends.
Why am I showing you this mess? Pop over and visit Julia at the Stamping Ground and all will be revealed.
Meanwhile have a great day,

Embossed Tag

I have made this tag with a couple of challenges in mind:-
Craft Stamper - Take it Make It
Country View Challenges - Die Cuts

Check out July Craft Stamper Magazine for details on this technique.

I began by embossing the whole tag and then built up more layers with stencils, embossing  and mica powder.

I stamped some butterflies on tissue, once attached I embossed the area around the butterflies, then I added some more stamping.

I triple embossed some die cut elements and stamped the butterflies on acetate and cut out.

Some of the detail.

I hope you like it,
Rosie x

Summer Scene from my Window and Bristol Parchment Exhibition

Before I go into today's post, I just wanted to tell you what a fantastic time I had at the Bristol Parchment Exhibition yesterday.
I ran a make and take for Pergamano and met some truly lovely and interesting people.  My sincere thanks to Pat and the rest of the organising team, I shall see you, same time, next year and I highly recommend it to anyone who can go and experience something, possibly entirely different.
Thanks too, to my friend, Anita, for her company and help.
Anyway, onto the challenge at Make My Monday this week which  is to create a summer scene.  Well assuming it is summer, which I am not entirely sure about, this card was based on the scene from the shed window.

This is the view that inspired me.
I used some Creative Expressions stamps on watercolour paper and painted with Distress Inks.
The background mat was distressed and I used Martha Stewart Crafters Clay to make the branch and leaf.
I hope my card will inspire you to have a go at the challenge this week,  I look forward to seeing your wonderful creations,

WOYWW 211

Happy Wednesday all.  Now is the time for our worldwide peep into the crafting space of others and to, in my case with great shame, show our own work desks.
I have to admit it is rather untidy.  I have some stamps I left out after completing yesterday's tag and some stuff out ready to do something later.  The teal lump is my ball gown for next week which needs altering as I am ever so slightly vertically challenged!
If all this means nothing to you, please visit the lovely Julia at The Stamping Ground to find out why we do this.
Have a great day,
Rosie x

Perfect Life Tag

I just love this quote stamp from Stampers Anon, apologies if you are fed up with seeing it,
.

I began by smooching and spritzing Distress Paint and Perfect Pearls Mister to create the background.
The stamps are from Pergamano and were coloured with Perga Colours which are a water based felt tip.

Seam binding was inked and a parchment rose was coloured with DI and spritzed.

The ruffle was simply made by pulling up a running stitch on the machine.

I hope you like my tag and I would like to enter it into the following Challenges:-
Shabby Tea Room - Ruffles and Ribbons
Stamping Sensations - Summer Blooms

Shades of Purple

The challenge this week at Make My Monday this week is Shades of Purple with one neutral colour and here is my take on this.

I began by inking my card and spritzing to give a lovely mottled background.
After stamping the image and sentiment, I continued with the background by stamping and embossing with Aurora Crystal embossing powder to give a twinkly effect.
The seam binding was coloured with Distress Inks and spritzed to wrinkle.
My parchment butterfly was embossed with clear embossing powder and microbeads were added for a body.

I finished off by distressing a purple mat.
I hope you like my card this week and will be inspired to join in, I love to see your beautiful and inspiring entries,
Rosie x

WOYWW 210 and Create and Craft TV Excitement

Happy Wednesday everyone and what an exciting Wednesday for me so far.
My desk is full of lots of goodies that the lovely Jan from Creata has brought me to play with in readiness for my upcoming shows on Create and Craft.
I will be covering Carley while she has her hols and demonstrating Pergamano and more.  I need a name for the show - any ideas?
Meanwhile, back on planet blog, I am off to visit friends, old and new courtesy of the lovely Julia at The Stamping Ground, why not join me?

Father's Day

I hope you like my Father's Day card for this year.
I have used an Indigo Blu Tree Stamp which did have a border but I decided to cut it off as it made the design non-repeatable.
The background was made  with Distress Paints and the the card has an acetate overlay.
I also got to play with my Dymo - I always wanted one of these when I was a child!

Simon Says Stamp - Father's Day
Sugar Creek Hollow - Father's Day

Clean and Simple Flowers

The challenge this week at Make My Monday is CAS, using flowers only and here is my interpretation.

I used Darkroom Door stamps and Distress Markers to ink them up.

I masked off the top and the bottom of the card prior to stamping.
This is most definitely a Simple Card.
Do join us this week, I always enjoy seeing your beautiful creations,

WOYWW 209

Happy Wednesday everyone.
It's that day of the week again that we bare all on our workdesks, courtesy of Julia at The Stamping Ground.
My desk isn't very exciting this week, I've just done a beading class, hence the lateness of this post.  Today  I have some die cuts out ready for some Father's Day cards and, of course, some parchment.
I see there is some glasses case build up going on, I can't find a pair when I want them!
Enough of the waffle, I'm off to pry into some other fantastic crafty spaces,

Tag for This Morning's Walk

During our walk this morning, Bowser and I were admiring the wild flowers against the fields, admittedly I was more admiring than Bowser! However, I was inspired to create this tag.

I managed to juggle the dog lead and the camera and the bag today to get a couple of snaps.  Unfortunately this lovely countryside will soon be covered with 2500 houses courtesy of East Staffs BC.  Soon we will have to drive somewhere to talk the dog for a walk - how mad is that!

Anyway, rant over and moving on, this is what I did.

Distress paint for the background.  PaperArtsy and Crafty Individuals stamps which I then embossed just the butterflies and flowers with Cosmic Shimmer Embossing Powder and a Versamark pen.
The dragonfly is from Vintaj and I finished with some painted seam binding and then some Rock Candy Crackle Paint.

Bowser looking a bit wet and not that admiring to be honest!

Using Lace and / or Ribbon

It's Monday again and that means the new Make My Monday challenge.
This week's challenge is to use ribbon and / or lace.  Obviously this suits me down to the ground as I like to put lace, whether it's paper or fabric onto everything.

The background was created with a mask and distress ink sponged through.

The stamps are Creative Expressions and Artistic stamper, the parchment corner and mat are both done freehand.

Everything was assembled and stitched in place with Grandma's trusty Singer.
I do hope this has inspired you to play along this week,  As always, I look forward to seeing your beautiful creations,
Rosie x
