Paper Piecing

Today our challenge at Make My Monday is Paper Piecing.

The background is made with Distress Paints and I have used some beautiful Darkroom Door Stamps.
I have embossed and sanded the mat.

I stamped the image on the card and also on various backing papers, which I then cut out and attached.

Do join in this week, I love to see your beautiful creations

Photo Inspiration

Our challenge at Make My Monday this week is a photo inspiration, I hope you like my interpretation.
The background is distress paints smooshed and spritzed.
I have used a Pergamano Multi Grid for the frame border. The rose is also made from Parchment paper and coloured with Distress Inks.
I hope you will join in the challenge with us this week,

WOYWW 215

Happy Wednesday everyone, it's that time of the week to visit other 'deskers' (how great is that name, thanks , Julia) and see what they are working on.  For details visit Julia at The Stamping Ground.
On my desk today, well er, definitely work in progress.  I have some stamps that I am trying to use in lots of different ways and the e-mails from those lovely people who e-mailed into the show last week.  Also some lovely paints and items to paint.
Well thank you, for visiting, I'm off to do the same.  Have a great week,
Rosie x

Dragonfly Card

Our challenge at Make My Monday this week is to use a stamp that has never been inked.  What should I do?  Go through my stash or buy new? Difficult decision - not!

Unfortunately this has been very difficult to photograph as it is mainly acetate.

New Stamps!
I began my background by dripping alcohol inks onto acetate and moving them around with blending fluid.

I cut an aperture from the card and the backing paper.

Text from a Stampers Anonymous set.

The toadstools were stamped onto acetate to and coloured with Promarkers and finally a dragonfly from foil.  I had been walking around the paddock with my friend and we had seen a dragonfly so he had to feature.
Do join us this week and show us your fabulous creations,

Grandma's Clock and Thank you

Firstly, can I thank everyone for their good wishes towards my first show on Create and Craft yesterday, it really did make all the difference knowing I had your support.
One of the items shown was this Tim Holtz clock that I have had for a while now and pretty much knew what I wanted to do, but hadn't actually got started until I saw a post by Suzz of Suzz's Stamping Spot and was inspired to get on with it.
The photograph is my grandma as a young woman, probably before she was married.

I began by making some parchment flowers which I coloured with DI.  The clock was painted with PaperArtsy Fresco paints.

The background was stamped with an Artistic Stamper watch background.
Finally a parchment frame and butterfly.

I would like to enter this project into the following challenges:-
Artistic Stamper - Ladies Day
Altered Ecletics - Anything Goes
Our Creative Corner - Captured Memories
Vintage Stamping Challenge - Pretty in Pink
Simon Says Stamp - Pin It
Sunday Stampers

WOYWW 214

Oh my, now what has happened. How untidy is this!
I am busy making the demo samples for my show on Create and Craft TV tomorrow at 1pm - (please forgive me for shameless plug) - so excited!
It doesn't really look as though I'm calm, collected and in control does it?
Why not visit Julia at The Stamping Ground where you will find an oasis of calm and some beautiful flowers on her desk also an explanation of why I am showing my dreadful desk.
Happy Wednesday

Balloons

This week our challenge at Make My Monday is Balloons and here is my interpretation.

I inked and spritzed the background and stamped a collage of some great stamps.  A bit of paper distressing and my fab Dymo with some Glossy Accents to add a little bit of texture.
I hope you like my card and feel inspired to join in the challenge this week,
Rosie x

Summer Sizzler

This month I am so pleased to be producing a project for Country View Challenges as I was lucky enough to receive the Design Team's Special Mention Award.
When I was given the title of the challenge 'Summer Sizzler', I immediately thought of a summer holiday and also hot coloured summer flowers, hence my Suitcase Full of Blooms.

I began by making my suitcase using a new Bigz Pro die in Kraft card which I distressed.

I always wanted a suitcase full of labels from exotic places and so decided to make my own.  I stamped my images and for the authentic touch, ran them through the Zyron to turn them into labels.

My flowers are a mixture of some stamped images, some metal and some fabric flowers.

Let's hope we get an English Sizzling summer otherwise I shall just have to be content with my garden and my hot flowers,

WOYWW 213

Happy Wednesday all.  This week I have had a move around, they say a change is as good as a rest don't they?
I have decided I wanted to look straight out at the garden, then I can watch Bowser the Naughty Schnauzer digging and hopefully prevent life threatening holes appearing in the lawn.  Between him and the mole it's like an obstacle course out there.
A question last week was what the pink box was and it is my latest (of very many!) Die Cutting Machines, this one by Joy and I am loving it.
All the knobs at the front of my desk will be blending tools very soon, courtesy of my lovely dad.

Anyway, enough of the chat, if you would like to join in the fun, please pop over and see the lovely and recently published Julia at The Stamping Ground
Am popping over to have a look at some other desks now,

Christmas in July

Our challenge at Make My Monday this week is Christmas in July.
I have to confess this is my first Christmas Card of the year, normally I like to start a little earlier and I really admire those who make festive cards the whole year through.  Oh to be so organised!
For my card I have started with a pre-cut card by Papermania.  I have used Distressed Paints and Perfect Pearls to create the background.  I also cut up another card to use as a stencil on the left hand side and painted some seam binding to match.

I have beaded a pre-formed snowflake from odd beads in my stash, so all in all quite a quick card.
I hope you will have a look at the other DT makes too and be inspired to create your own Christmas in July card.
