Anniversary Heart - Make My Monday Challenge

This week the challenge at Make My Monday is Anything But A Card.  I made this heart for some very dear friends of mine.

The heart is one from Indigo blu which I have painted and stamped.  The couple are Hero Arts, I decided to stamp them onto card so that I could distress them more easily.
The Parchment Heart is from a multi grid and the rose is also from Parchment, coloured with Jenni Bowling Ink.

Do come and join in the fun at Make My Monday this week.

WOYWW 203

Well it's Wednesday again and that means we get to show and tell our play areas and visit other people's work desks, courtesy of Julia at The Stamping Ground.

My desk seems characteristically untidy.  As usual I have at least three projects on the go at any one time.
I'm going to pop off and have a nose around some other desks.  Bye for now.

Mary Mary - Make My Monday Challenge

This week's Make My Monday Challenge is Fancy Folds - or A Card with More Than One Fold.
I thought it would be fun to make a card based on the Nursery Rhyme, Mary Mary Quite Contrary - not that I have any contrary teenagers in my household !!

I stamped and embossed a butterfly onto parchment and the bee onto acetate and coloured him with Distress Paint.
Mary is a Graphic 45 image and the bird is an Anna Griffin embellishment.
I stamped the shells first before masking off and stamping the rest of the garden.

I do hope you will come along and play at Make My Monday this week as we love to see your artwork.

Life Passing Tag

The challenge this month at Indigo Blu is Words and Phrases so I thought I would use this great stamp set. My favourite stamp on this set is actually the little voice one which makes me smile everytime I read it.
I have used paint as my background as Hels at Sunday Stampers Challenge this week is paint and I love any excuse to get painty.

I began by laying down the background colours with Distress Paints, smooching and spritzing.

I made some masks with my cropodile and some die cutting residue.
I inked through the masks and stamped some bottle tops with white paint.
I dyed the seam binding and added some eyelets and distressed cogs for a finishing touch.

WOYWW 202

Happy Wednesday Everyone.
I'm back home again this week, the children are back at school, Bowser's eating everything that doesn't move and chasing everything that does - so life is back to normal.
I have a fairly focused desk today, I am thrilled to have been asked to produce some samples with the new Pergamano Summer Garden collection and so have been playing with that and my new syringe of Ice Resin - lots of fun!
Please do pop over to Julia at the Stamping Ground to see what all the fuss is about and enjoy peeking onto everyone else's worksdesk, which I what I am going to do.

Blue and Brown Make My Monday Challenge

Good Morning, this is my Make My Monday DT card for this week, I hope you like it.
I used a fab kraft card from Graphic 45 as my background.  The stamp is an old one from my stash which I have removed from the wood so I don't know whose it is.

My lace trim was from mum's sewing box and the metal leaves are Creative Expressions, I love them because they are metal and pliable.

To create the corner, I embossed around a metal corner and then made up the embossing and pricking pattern freehand on parchment.

Both the parchment rose and corner are coloured with Distress Ink and the image is coloured with a Distress Marker.
I hope my card inspires you to play along with me at Make My Monday

Spring Parchment Brooch

This week I have made a Spring Brooch using one of the lovely Crafty Individuals stamps which I stamped onto Linen and coloured with Derwent Inktense Pencils.

I make a parchment oval using a Pergamano Grid and some little parchment roses onto which I added some stickles.
The little pink roses and green leaves are all beads and I finally added some self adhesive pearls.

I am entering this into the following challenges:-

April in Paris

The challenge at Frilly and Funkie this week is April in Paris.  I have lots of lovely Paris themed stamps at home, however, I am in Wales so I had to try really hard to find something suitable.  I suppose it is a challenge after all!

I found some backing paper - free from a magazine with french writing and some previously die cut letters which bore a resemblance to what I needed - ( a bit of artistic license here! )

The flowers were stamped onto some left over painted paper and as I have my Parchment tools with me, I was able to make a lacy butterfly.

WOYWW 201 - Or Whats on Your Welsh Workdesk

Happy Wednesday Everyone and yippee I am in lovely Wales on top of a hill on a sunny day - life doesn't get much better than this!
So here is my temporary workdesk - remarkably tidy as I have to clear up for every meal.
I hope you are having a good Wednesday too and please join in with us at The Stamping Ground with Julia and share what is on your workdesk.

April Tag

I am loving this Stampers Anonymous quote set at the moment, I think this one is just so true, don't you?

I have used lots of distress paints and colours to create the background, spritzing and smooching.  I love the distress paints as they keep their colour so perfectly and don't go muddy.
I made a butterfly in Clearly for Art, although I notice the one I finally used isn't the one in the picture, I chose one with more detail hoping it would show up more. If you haven't used this yet, I would definitely recommend a play.
I found the white distress stain to be great for stamping just that extra bit of detail.
The flowers were punched from card and metal card and the '4' at the top of the tag is from the packaging of the Tim Holtz tape ribbon - how lucky is that!

I am entering this tag into the following challenges:-

Mixed Media Card with Parchment Butterfly

I really enjoyed making this card as it has lots of my favourite things on it and I love combining fabric, lace and papers.

I began by cutting some fabric ( a free curtain sample) to fit my green square mat which I distressed.

I stamped a nestie shape and attached that and a nestie cut from a stamped torn and gessoed background sheet I had previously made.

I found some beautiful ribbons and distressed just about everything that didn't move.

The stamp is from Crafty Individuals, stamped on linen and coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils.
I made a parchment butterfly embellishment, with wire and an organza flower.
The flower is a silk carrier rod - if you haven't seen these check out Stef Francis.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:-
The Artistic Stamper - Texture
The Ribbon Girl - Flowers
Sugar Creek Hollow - Fabulous Flourishes
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Fly
Country View Challenges - Butterflies
Pan Pastel Challenge - Use a Stamped Image

Make My Monday Challenge - Create Your Own Background

This is my card for this week's challenge at Make My Monday, I do hope you will play along.
The main image is one of my favourite stamps from Indigo Blu.

The challenge is to create your own background.  I embossed white card with a folder and inked with Stormy Skies and Black Soot Distress Inks.

The hinges, lock, gears and clock were die cut and then coloured with Distress Stains and inks.

Faux Airbrush Technique

Craft Stamper magazine are running a Take It - Make IT Challenge featuring Faux Air Brushing so I have finally come up with a card - bearing in mind, I have had two months and the challenge ends tomorrow!

I began by making my own mask with this Marianne Creatables Die.

I then sponged through with Distress Inks.

Finally I stamped the dancer image on the card and also onto paper I had stamped the Dance Dictionary on.
I stamped the solid image onto the card before attaching the loose dancer to give her a little more depth as I have used silicone to raise her slightly.

WOYWW 200

Happy Wednesday Everyone, it's time to share what is on our Workdesks today.
The most obvious addition to mine is my boy.  I have only just thrown number one daughter out of the shed and now her spot has been replaced by number one son.
I love having them both in with me really.
Have a great day and please share What's on Your Workdesk this Wednesday - for details visit Julia at the Stamping Ground.
Have to dash, the postman has arrived and now Bowser is on the rampage! I am clearly going to get nothing done today.

One layer card - Make My Monday Challenge

This week's theme at Make My Monday is a One Layer Card and here is my take on this.

I have used a Darkroom Door Image which I stamped first.

I then cut masks with a nestie and once I had decided on the layout, sponged through the masks with Distress Inks.  I used a cheap car washing sponge for this (3 for £1 from the pound shop).

That's all there is to it and no extra postage costs on this one - most unusual for me.
